No doubt you’ve probably come across the latest trend in fun and entertainment called Flyjumpers or jumping stilts. They certainly give off the impression of being a great deal of fun; but if you are like most parents, your number one concern has to do with safety issues and not just how much fun they are! If you are worried about getting a pair of kids stilts there’s no need for concern as they are totally safe although a few safety issues that do need to be addressed.

Most kids have a knack of mastering new games and ideas without too much effort or trouble and kids stilts are no different. As soon as they strap them on to their feet and have a few goes walking around the majority of youngsters have it down pat within about ten or fifteen minutes. Chances are that you will eventually find yourself in a game of chicken with you as the target that the kids want to soar over!

Padding such as wrist, elbow and knee pads are worn to minimize damage control from scrapes and tumbles where they miscalculated their landing; and of course a good quality safety helmet is also necessary to protect your children from potential head injuries. Relax as the danger zone isn’t really any higher than skateboarding or skating! We’ve certainly all held our breath as we’ve watched our kids strut their stuff at skate parks! Kids stilts are rather the same thing. Parents just need to learn to chill out a bit!

It’s all about practice and before you can blink; your son or daughter has cleared both you and the four foot fence behind you in one clean giant leap! Smile back as your dare devil flies over top of you! But why should kids have all the fun? There are plenty of fantastic adult jumping stilts on the market so why not buy some for the entire family and start jumping together? It sure beats staying indoors!
